A little bit of life lately – Butterfly Catching

Myra got a butterfly net a month ago for her birthday. I can’t believe she has been two years old for a month already! She has grown up so much! I have enjoyed spending time with her outside, where she loves to run and play. And now, she loves to chase after bugs and try to catch them in her net!

We usually head outside while Vivian is taking a nap…just the two of us. I like to bring Vivian outside as much as possible, but it’s nice to have times where I can chase after Myra with my hands free. We have so much fun together! The butterfly net really brings me out of my comfort zone. Fact about me: I hate bugs. They freak me out. Even butterflies. They look pretty from afar, but once they get close, I’m a wreck. But, for the sake of my daughter, I pretend to like bugs…as long as they end up in the net and not on my shoulder!

Myra actually caught a butterfly! It landed on a flower, I pointed it out to Myra, so she slammed the net down and caught it! We were both pretty surprised as we watched it fly out of the net. Myra was excited and bummed at the same time. That started the desire to catch another one!

She ran around for a while until she remembered her love for dirt and taking off her shoes.

Then she noticed the ball. So, of course it had to be kicked!

Once she saw daddy walking home from work, everything else disappeared. It was so sweet. She saw him and started yelling “Daddy!” over and over as she ran to him. Luckily, I had my camera and snapped a few pics. These pictures are so precious to me.

I love being able to run around the yard with my sweet little girl. Soon enough, Vivian will be crawling right along with us. Then walking! It is already going way too fast. I just love my kiddos.

What fun things do you like to do with your kids?
