Mondays are errand days for us. We usually spend most of the day at the doctor’s office, Walmart, and the grocery store. I’m pretty good at planning it all out so that we don’t waste a minute, but once in a while, we have an hour or so to spare.
This was one of those days. We stopped for some coffee and it wasn’t quite lunch time, so we drove around looking for something to do. That’s when we noticed the Western Village of Payson. We love antiques and rustic things, so we were intrigued.
After looking around outside for a few minutes, we headed inside. When we got in the door, Myra threw her hand up all diva-like and shouted, “Shoppin!” I think the owner’s heart melted right then and there. Later, he told us that she made his entire day!
The store was filled with old books, signs, hand-made treasures, and antiques galore! We looked around for about 15 minutes just to find out we had only seen half of the store! Plus, there was a bunch of stuff out back! There was so much to see. We could hardly take it all in! And Myra got a little freaked out by all the mannequins!
Ryan loved the books and I loved all the neat old stuff…like this cash register and phone booth!
We could have stayed in there for hours! There was so much to see! I had been looking for a few things for our home so we picked up a couple cool treasures.
These signs and this fabric finished off our coffee bar perfectly!
We had been looking for a bench for this spot for a while. When we found this handmade, rustic bench, we instantly fell in love. And the owner even dropped the price for us! Bonus!
Ryan picked out an antique Zane Grey book to read this summer.
We had such a blast looking at all the neat things. We already can’t wait to go back and see the rest! And now I have this urge to go antiquing and thrifting! Luckily, we have lots of stores in the area to check out!
What are some cool things you have picked up from an antique or thrift store?
