Fall is such a special time of year. It’s almost as if the weather and traditions of the season are saying, “Don’t be sad that summer is over. You got me now!” This season surely makes the end of summer seem not so bad after-all. At first, when my Instagram feed started filling up with sweaters and colored leaves, I didn’t feel ready. But now, Autumn is in full swing and I’m looking forward to apple cider, cozy socks, and pumpkins!
Now that Myra is older and starting to enjoy more activities, I figured a pumpkin patch would be fun. I could picture Myra and Vivian ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the pumpkins and having a good time exploring nature. I asked Ryan if he could find a place to go. He googled it and, within the hour, we were headed to Jason’s Pumpkin Patch!
Jason’s Pumpkin Patch started in 2001 when a 10 year old boy, named Jason, decided to put his idea into action. They have over 100 varieties of pumpkins, squash, and gourds along with tons of family fun activities! I was pleasantly surprised to find out how much there was to do and how much my kids loved it!
It was such a special treat for my family to be able to have a fun Autumn morning. It ended up being more fun than we expected and our girls had a blast! I especially loved the friendly, home-spun atmosphere that made the trip even more special. We even grabbed some local apple cider on the way out! Now, that was a special treat! We are already looking forward to our next trip back to the pumpkin patch. I have a feeling it going to become our Fall family tradition!
Here is a list of all of the exciting activities at Jason’s Pumpkin Patch! (you can also check out their website)
Barnyard Zoo – They have an area to get up-close and personal with a bunch of farm animals.
Corn Maze – There is a full-size corn maze that takes about 20 minutes to complete along with a kiddie corn maze that takes about 10 minutes.

Pony Cart Ride – Holly, the Pony, gives rides around the farm.
