One of the great things about our new home is that we have an open, spare room right off of the kitchen. It is almost like a second living room. But, since we only have one TV and just the right amount of furniture for one living room, the obvious thing to do was make it into a playroom! We have made bedrooms into playrooms in past homes but, since Vivian was born, we have had to cram all of our toys in our living room. For us, it ended up being a constant mess of toys that made our house seem consistently out-of-order. So, I was thrilled to have this super convenient space for my kids to call their own! Read more
Life has been settling down here in Port Clinton. We are all unpacked (woohoo!) and finally starting to make our house feel like a home. Our need for dressers was filled! We had been shopping around and coming up short everywhere we went. Suddenly, someone gave us 3 dressers! It was exactly what we needed and God provided! We are deeply thankful for the way people have been caring for us from before we even arrived. Now, all we need is a desk for me. Any suggestions for places to look?
Ryan jumped right into his new position as lead pastor and loves it! It’s pretty cool to see him prepare sermons, have meetings, and love on people knowing that this is truly what he was meant to do. There is nothing quite like being right where God wants you. Read more
The first 10 days are behind me! Woohoo! And ya know what? I feel fantastic! I was a tad nervous before starting Whole 30. I was scared that it was going to be harder than I thought or that black coffee was going to be too unbearable. But I am pleased to say that I am loving so much about this! Read more
Yesterday, I told you all about my very physical experience with dealing with stress. In a nut shell, I have been gaining weight, dealing with headaches, severely breaking out on my face and neck, feeling stomach pains after eating, and experiencing crazy low energy. Normally, I would say I just felt a little sick and not think twice. But, since it has been over a month of these yucky feelings, I decided to do something about it.
Introducing…Whole 30! Read more
Hey strangers! It feels like it has been forever since I have been here! I must say, I have felt a little lost without blogging so I am excited to be back! I figured an update on life would be a good place to start.
We have officially, finally moved! It seems like it took forever to physically get all of our things (and family members) to our new home. After packing up the majority of our home, the girls and I headed to Pennsylvania to spend a week with my family. Ryan took a few days to finish packing up the house and loaded the UHaul before he started his 5 day traveling adventure.
Our plans were to be in our new home within the week but we ended up needing to wait another week for new paint and new carpet (!!!). We couldn’t believe that our church family was going to be taking such good care of us in this way. It was definitely not expected and we are so grateful. Since we had to wait, Ryan was able to spend a few days in Pennsylvania with us which turned out to be a special, unexpected vacation. We sure felt spoiled! Read more
This move has held a load of mixed emotions. One day, I will be excited for a new home, new life, and totally different experience. Then, the next day, I’m tearing up because I’m going to miss friends, our house, and this beautiful state I have grown to love dearly. Read more
I figured it was a good time to give you an update on how our packing is going.
In one word, it’s overwhelming. Read more
Myra was building towers out of blocks. When the tower fell over, she would say “Uh-oh!” When I said “It’s okay” she answered back “Try again!” I told her she had a great attitude about the situation. She just kept saying “Try, try again.” When I asked her where she got that from she said “Daniel Tiger.” Thanks Daniel Tiger for, once again, teaching my daughter some great life lessons! Read more
Hey Momma! It’s Monday! If you are like most people, this doesn’t excite you one bit. You might already be dreaming about the weekend and thinking about how in the world you are ever going to make it to Friday! I feel ya, girl!
As moms, there are tons of expectations we place on ourselves. Gotta get the dishes done, laundry folded, floors swept. The list is constantly endless. I don’t know about you, but I often find myself feeling discouraged when I don’t accomplish as much as I had hoped. Or I beat myself up about not being the have-it-all-together homemaker that I so often see. Read more
